Mr. Fix-It
I wish that people would really learn to listen sometimes...everybody is out to save somebody else. If we all just really listened to each other, the world would be such a more peaceful place. The only way you can really understand someone is to listen.
Understanding someone takes a bit of effort...because it's so hard to NOT TALK when someone is telling you something. We're all programmed to share our opinions of everything.. the important thing is to know when someone does not want your opinion - just wants your time and attention and listening capabilities.
It's hard to talk to someone who doesn't listen... hard to talk to someone who is so self-absorbed in their own emotions that they can't even begin to listen to yours. It's been so difficult for me to find someone I can trust enough with my own emotions.
When you don't understand what people are going through.. sometimes it just helps to offer a shoulder to cry on... a source of comfort... be supportive... be caring... and if you don't have something non-judgemental to say, then be quiet.
