The Trouble With Love Is...

When you're in love, things are always different than what they really are. Why do we get into this stage of denial...or high optimism, perhaps.

Sometimes people convince themselves of a perfect relationship even when it is over and done with. At the point of a breakup..are things clear? Never. Sure, mutual break-ups seem like the best thing.. but there are still floating feelings of love and fear.. At one point or another, you start to think that maybe it was a mistake...maybe you should keep trying..maybe it can get better... We are all guilty of this denial aftermath. It's the fear of being alone.. the fear of losing love and the possibility of never feeling that again.

Some girls lose their identity when they find someone that makes them happy. It's like they will do anything to just keep him close, keep him entertained, keep him happy. Why lose a part of yourself in hopes that you will become more of an "us?" I don't know what my perspective is on this.. I've seen girls pull a 360 change and become obnoxiously dependent on their boyfriends - whether it be converting religions or taking on a totally different personality - just to prove that they are devoted. It's like they think that in order to keep love, you have to change into someone else.

Are you nobody until somebody loves you?
